Pedestal Table Oak

Build it low. Build it tall. Pedestal Table creates new space by exposing all kinds of objects on an easily movable piece of furniture. Strong and steady, Pedestal Table has a light elegance transcending time.

Add up to 5 interlocking spacers for a tall version, or subtract spacers for a lower table. The interconnecting bolts and nuts are integral parts of the design with no loose parts whatsoever.

The use of real wood vouches for longevity, while at the same time recycling wood remnants in the workshop in making the spacers.

Made of solid oak. The bottom is enforced with a steel plate to enhance stability. Measures 31cm (W) x 31cm (D) x 67.5cm (H - at its tallest). Weighs 4kg.

Since graduating in Furniture and Product Design from Beckmans College of Design, Stockholm, in 2001, Schildt has designed everything from furniture to textiles, packaging and trade fair showcases. She also works as an interior architect. The materials and techniques vary; sometimes it is about crafts, sometimes serial production. Inspired by nature, the design, which is often sculptural, has virtually always comprised elements of humour and multifunctionality.
