The Puutarhurin Parhaat (Gardener's Best) print by Maija Louekari for Marimekko fits into dining décor naturally, with its depictions of mushrooms, onions, broccoli, flowers and stems. Like a colouring book, some of the black and white plant shapes are filled in with bright green or dark teal. Acrylic-coated cotton makes minor messes easily wiped clean, but also allows it to be machine washable for more major spills. It feels coarser than untreated cotton, but still feels like fabric and not like vinyl of earlier placemats. Plus, the eco-friendly treatment helps to avoid wrinkling when folded!
Please note: These placemats are cut from Marimekko fabric with a long repeat, so each is one-of-a-kind. The pattern and colour on yours may vary from the one shown.
